Local Officers Get Dirty, Raise Money for Wounded Warriors Project

Posted: Updated:

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Officers with the Santa Cruz Police Department participated in a recent Tough Mudder event in Lake Tahoe to raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project.

The event was held on September 22 and 23.  On Friday, SCPD released a team photo from the event, showing their officers muddy from head-to-toe.  According to the Tough Mudder website, their events are hardcore 10 to 12 mile obstacle courses designed by British Special Forces to test your all-around strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie.

With the most innovative courses, half a million inspiring participants, and more than $3 million raised for the Wounded Warrior Project, organizers say Tough Mudder is the premier adventure challenge series in the world.
