SANTA CRUZ, Calif.- Moving at a steady pace to meet the December deadline for their first home game, the steelwork to be used for the construction of the Warriors Arena Stadium in Santa Cruz arrived Tuesday.
As construction on the Kaiser Permanente arena progresses, the team wrapped up a job fair over the weekend.
"There is so much community excitement here in Santa Cruz surrounding the new home team, and we are eager to tap into the local talent and skill base," said Santa Cruz Warriors President Jim Weyermann in a news release. "The Santa Cruz Warriors are all about creating opportunities and opening doors for people from all walks of life."
The Santa Cruz Warriors are the NBA Development League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors. The NBA D-League was founded in 2001 and is the official minor league of the NBA, featuring 16 teams with direct affiliations to NBA franchises. At the conclusion of the 2011-12 season, 27 percent of players in the NBA boasted experience in the NBA D-League.
