SEASIDE, Calif. - Several people have been arrested in connection with a string of violence that has happened in Seaside over the past few weeks. Police say that they have also received information about a planned retaliation on Halloween.
On Sunday, the Monterey County Gang Task Force initiated a traffic stop and arrested three identified gang members in the City of Seaside: Gabriel Gonzalez, Rodolfo Lopez, and Oscar Escobedo. Police said they recovered a handgun, counterfeit currency, and black and red bandannas.
On Saturday, the Monterey County Gang Task Force initiated a traffic stop and arrested three identified gang members in the City of Seaside: Brian Romo, Guillermo Ruvalcaba, and a 17 year old male juvenile. A handgun was located in the vehicle. All three subjects were on probation at the time of the arrest.
On Thursday, October 25, the Seaside Police Department arrested two identified gang members for armed robbery. It is believed drugs were involved. Arrested were Jeremiah Holbert, and Emilio Villagrande. The two firearms used in the robbery were located.
Police said that they have received information about a planned Halloween retaliation for recent shootings in the city. The department is sending out automated messages to the residents of Seaside with the following message:
"The Seaside Police Department has received information which indicates unknown persons are planning retaliatory events in the City of Seaside on Halloween, related to shootings which have occurred in Seaside.
The community is encouraged to attend organized events, such as the Halloween Bonanza at the Oldemeyer Center in Seaside, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
During your travels, please use due care and caution, be vigilant, and report all suspicious activity."
