SALINAS, Calif. - Salinas Police are investigating a shooting with multiple victims that happened Monday night. It was reported around 11:30 p.m. in the area of Deer St. and N. Main in Salinas.
Police found the first victim, a 19-year-old, on North Main Street. He was only grazed by a bullet.
The second victim, a 26-year-old woman who is 4-months pregnant, was shot in the torso. Police found her still sitting in the vehicle where the shooting happened. She was taken to Natividad Medical Center where she was stabilized and then transported to a Bay area hospital. She is listed in critical condition and police say the baby is fine so far.
The third victim was found with several gunshot wounds further down Deer Street. He was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.
Police say that all three of the victims were inside the same vehicle when the shooting happened. As they started to drive away from the area an unknown male suspect came out of nowhere and started shooting into the front passenger side of the vehicle, said police.
The victims tried to get away by running from the vehicle but the suspect fired multiple rounds. The suspect ran from the scene in a west bound direction towards N. Main and Bernal Drive, said police.
The investigation is on going and the Salinas Police Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has information to call 758 -7321 or to remain anonymous 775-4222
