East Coast Travelers Stranded In Monterey

Posted: Updated:

MONTEREY, Calif.-Travelers trying to head for the East Coast will have to stay put for the time being because of Super Storm Sandy.  We caught up with two travelers who had to change their plans.

Terry Ryan and Bill Kalsuga said they're on the Central Coast to visit a friend and while they both travel a lot, they didn't expect to be stranded this time.

"I always enjoy it, usually when it's nicer than where I'm going," said Terry Ryan.

Ryan is from Little Falls, New Jersey, that's about 15 miles west of New York City.  Kalsuga said he's headed back to Rochester, New York.

But for now, due to the storms, they'll be staying a little bit longer on the Central Coast.  They've both called home to check in and make sure their families are safe and hope people just use common sense and avoid the storm.

"Doesnt sound to me like this one was over hyped, they took early precaution and it was the right thing to do," said Bill Kalsuga.

"I think you're always worried when a catastrophe strikes some place," Ryan said.
