Teen Caught on Camera Breaking into BBQ Restaurant

SALINAS, Calif. - Salinas Police have arrested a teen on charges he tried breaking into a local barbecue restaurant on West Market Street.  

Officers were on patrol in the area on Sunday evening, when they were alerted by a citizen who told them someone was trying to break into the Salinas City Barbecue restaurant.  Officers arrived at the business and found that the front windows had been broken and there was blood at the scene. During an extensive area check officers found 18-year-old Oscar Sandoval hiding in a loading dock next to the restaurant on Clark St. Sandoval had blood to his forearm.

In addition, he was found in possession of property taken from a burglary reported earlier in the day. Officers obtained the video surveillance footage from the restaurant, where Sandoval is seen standing on the porch trying to break in.

Sandoval was booked at the Monterey County Jail on charges of burglary to a business and possession of stolen property.
