Gang Members Arrested For Parole Violations After Driving Around Yelling Gang Slogans

SALINAS, Calif. -- Officers say a car full of gang members were driving around flashing gang signs and yelling gang slogans. Police tracked down the car and arrested two gang members.

Police say it happened Tuesday around 1:30 near East Market and Carr Avenue.  The car was driving near the 1100 block of East Laurel Drive.

Witnesses were able to give police a good description of the car and license plate. Officers found the car a short time afterward. The driver was pulled over near the 600 block of Fremont street.

During the traffic stop, police say they arrested 21 year old Abel Rodriguez and 21 year old Jose Nathaniel Garcia. Rodriguez was arrested for a parole violation. Garcia was wanted on a felony warrant, and was in violation of his parole. Both men were booked into the Monterey County Jail.

The driver, 18-year old Jose Benitez was cited for driving without a license.
