Big Sur Food & Wine Back in All Its Glory

Posted: Updated:

BIG SUR, Calif.- It's paradise at our fingertips; all the food and wine you can eat and drink along one of the world's most famous coastlines.

The Big Sur Food and Wine Festival is on the horizon, taking place the first weekend in November, 1-4. So, with two weeks to go, event producers are tacking down the last details before food and wine lovers from all over the country descend upon the small community and their excitement is positively bubbling.

"It's amazing how this year's weekend has come about," states president of the festival, Toby Rowland-Jones in a news release Monday. "With the Hyatt Carmel Highlands working with us to expand the opening night Gateway to Big Sur and the Post Ranch Inn inviting us to do two of our most critical events, we are able to offer attendees the chance to be on two world-class properties and enjoy the very best of what our guest chefs and wineries are offering."

Festival officials said in three years they have raised more than $65,000 for various local non profits, including all five local schools, the Big Sur Health Center, the Henry Middle Library and Erica Duarte, a local girl who is attending the Culinary Institute of America in New York.

Rowland-Jones said he is excited about the Grand Public Tasting as much as anything else.
