GENEVA, Switzerland - One day after the International Cycling Union, the sport's governing body, stripped Lance Armstrong of his seven Tour de France titles, the American acquiesced in the ruling in the social media world.
Armstrong took the first step toward accepting the sanctions by deleting references to his Tour wins on his Twitter biography.
The International Cycling Union ratified the United States Anti-Doping Agency's sanctions against the American on Monday. To his 3 million followers on the social networking site, Armstrong now simply states he is: raising his five kids, fighting cancer, swim, bike, run and golf whenever he can.
CNN reported Monday, "With Armstrong's name is expunged, it will leave Greg LeMond as the only American to win the tour."
