More Boy Scouts Alleged Sexual Abuse Cases To Surface

Posted: Updated:

SALINAS, Calif. --  New information on decades of alleged sexual abuse within the Boy Scouts of America, including cases here on the central coast.

On Friday, Central Coast News learned there could be more of these "Perversion Files" coming to light.

There's more than 50,000 pages of the alleged abuse over the decades.

Boy Scouts will now have more thorough background checks on volunteers and scout leaders, and now leaders can't be alone with a boy.

More than two dozen alleged sexual abuse cases happened here on the central coast.

Some of the cases were never reported to authorities.

Boy Scouts of America said it's reviewing those cases, but isn't saying anything more.

Central Coast News is still waiting to see if more cases will surface locally.
