Monterey Police Department Going Green

MONTEREY, Calif. -- It's never a fun feeling to see red and blue lights behind you, but on a positive note, what's following you in Monterey could be a little more green.

The Monterey Police Department announced it purchased a Zero Brand electric motorcycle to help patrol the streets. The green motorcycle was built in Scotts Valley and is zero emission.

The motorcycle is much smaller than a regular police style motorcycle and can be used in crowds or indoors.

    SALINAS, Calif- Police are responding to a report of a stabbing that happened on East Alisal Friday afternoon. At this time police have E. Bernal at North Main closed off looking for a possible suspect.
    Police responded to a report of a stabbing that happened on East Alisal Friday afternoon. A witness who saw the stabbing tried to help the victim get to the hospital. He carried the suspect to the car and sped towards the hospital, said police.
