Water Rescue in Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- Fire crews saved a woman clinging to the rocks on the San Lorenzo River near the Boardwalk.

It happened around 7:15 p.m. near the Train Trestle. A rescue swimmer was sent out on a paddle board to get the victim. The woman was secured onto the rescue board and taken back to shore.

Witnesses told investigators they saw the women walking off the bridge and fell into the water. 

The woman was taken to Dominican Hospital. Investigators said the woman did not have any major injuries.
