SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. – The Santa Cruz County Conference & Visitors Council is part of the first of its kind marketing campaign to attract international visitors, primarily from the United Kingdom.
The CVC is a destination marketing organization in the State of California, and the first in that group of counties to participate in a multi-level program offered by Brand USA.
Brand USA was created in 2010 to encourage travelers from all over the world to visit the US. The public-private marketing entity works with the travel industry to maximize the economic and social benefits of travel. The UK is the largest overseas market for travel to California.
The Santa Cruz County Visitors Center's new campaign includes hosted videos, feature stories and dynamic photography illustrating the destination.
Santa Cruz County will be featured in two separate themed video segments: Santa Cruz beaches and surfing culture, and outdoor recreation and redwood forests.
This content will be featured on the CVC website, www.santacruz.org which hosts over half a million visits annually, on Discover America's website, www.discoveramerica.com, and other digital distribution methods.
Last week, the CVC also worked to create still photos and video of the beach area, the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum, Steamer Lane, West Cliff Drive, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, the Santa Cruz Wharf, Roaring Camp Railroads, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, and the redwood canopy tour at Mt. Hermon Conference Center for the package; aerial coastal shots of Highway 1, Lighthouse Point and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk were also taken.
