CARMEL VALLEY, Calif.- With a home in Carmel Valley, Scott Fujita might be spending more downtime in Monterey County if a neck injury takes a turn for the worse.
Fujita, who just put the NFL bounty scandal to bed, could now have his season, and maybe career, cut short by a neck injury. Fujita is apparently seeing a specialist, after missing Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
According to NFL.com, the neck injury for the Cleveland Browns linebacker occurred during week five against the New York Giants.
Sources say he'll likely be out this Sunday again against the Indianapolis Colts.
It seems like Fujita needs a break from all the drama and pain.
As for the bounty ordeal, four players, who were suspended following the investigation, are now reinstated, including Fujita. Recently, he reinforced his testimony and denial of the pay for pain bounty program during a meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
He won a Super Bowl championship with the Saints in the 2009 season.
