MONTEREY, Calif.- When you think of bacon, you wouldn't normally associate the crispy, juicy and indulgent meat with blues and beer, would you? But why not?

For the first time, you can smell the bacon, listen to great music and sip a cold one in Monterey at the end of the month. The new event highlights everything local and you guessed it, centers around bacon, blues and brews from local chefs/artists/breweries.

The event is calling all Monterey County chefs, restaurateurs, artisans and anyone who wants to indulge in a good time. The all new and tasty 1st Annual Monterey Bay Bacon Blues & Brews Festival (BBB) is heading to the Monterey County Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 27, 2012, featuring Monterey Bay's top chefs and restaurants, presenting their best bacon dish using the premiere bacon of choice Baker's Bacon, which was founded by Tony Baker, the Executive Chef of Montrio Bistro in Monterey.

There will be judging taking place among the quality live blues music, local craft breweries and a few featured wineries, as well as locally featured craftsmen.

As for the music line-up: legendary artist Les Dudek will headline the festival, being best known for his powerful lead-guitar and writing compositions on manymulti-platinum records, including the dual lead-guitar on The Ramblin' Man/acoustic guitar on Jessica (Allman Brothers) and his more smooth-silky guitar licks on Lido Shuffle, Jump Street or Low Down (Boz Scaggs).

"It's all about local", says Tanya Moore of Moore Media in a news release who is co-producing the show with Chef John Guinivere, a TV producer and Cheflive Internet Series founder. "I want to feature our top craftsmen, chefs and restaurants, breweries and wineries all in one spot and what better place to do it, than the place I call home."
