SALINAS, Calif. - The Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival is this upcoming Satuday, October 20th. On Monday, organizers announced an entire street of the festival will be dedicated to celebrating the local vegetable industry. Billed as "Salinas Valley Alley," there will be an impressive display of locally grown produce alongside several booths with free food tasting prepared by local produce companies.
Developed under the leadership of the Salinas City Elementary School District Foundation, the "Salinas Valley Alley" will also feature fantastic local BBQ and vegetables for sale. The BBQ will be available for $12 and includes ribs, chicken, beans, salad and a role.
Tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting Ginger Pierce at (831) 809-9377. There is even a special "loading zone" for take-out orders. The farmers market on site is being presented by Fresh From D'Vine Produce Market. Select whole fruit and vegetables will be available for sampling and purchase.
The Salinas Valley Food and Wine is a free family friendly community event occupying six blocks complete with 150 vendors, free food tasting and four stages of entertainment. Adult guests are invited to purchase tickets for $40 in advance and $50 day of that allow unlimited sampling from nearly 50 wineries and 30 breweries in a commemorative glass.
