Police, Sheriff Responding to Robberies, Shooting

Posted: Updated:

SALINAS, Calif.- Salinas police and the Monterey County Sheriff's Department responded to two different crime scenes at virtually the same time Friday afternoon.

The first, just after 3pm Salinas police searched a home in the area of Carmelita Dr. and Alisal St. right near Hartnell Park, where a possible robbery happened, no word yet on if officers caught a suspect.

Then, sheriff's deputies got a call about an armed robbery at the Beacon gas station on Hwy 68 and Hitchcock Rd.  Three suspects wearing bandanas over their faces, robbed the gas station attendant and shot one person.  We don't know if the victim worked at the gas station or was a customer.  The victim is expected to be ok.

Right now, investigators are searching for evidence at both locations and the suspects are still at-large.

No word if the two incidents are connected at this time.

Central Coast News has crews at both scenes.
