CHP Gearing Up For Wet Roads - Central Coast News KION/KCBA

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- A woman driving North on Highway 17 near Santa Cruz, was going too fast,  hit the divider and spun onto the ditch just after 5pm on Wednesday. CHP officers say with the wet roads they are expecting a lot more of these crashes especially on those winding roads.

They caution drivers especially after and during the rain.

California Highway Patrol officers say there were no traffic delays. But said this area on Highway 17 and Laurel Road is a new "hot spot" for accidents as the rainy season approaches.

In fact, much of the central coast saw more accidents than normal Wednesday after some rain.
