SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - A woman going too fast down Highway 17 near Santa Cruz hit the divider and spun into the ditch just after 5 Wednesday evening.

California Highway Patrol deputies say there were no traffic delays, but said this area is a new "hot spot" for accidents as the rainy season approaches.

In fact, much of the central coast saw more accidents than normal today, and officials say that's likely due to the weather.
