Monterey County Receives Award to Build Jail Housing Addition

MONTEREY--Monterey County has received a conditional award of more than $36 million to build a jail housing addition to relieve inmate overcrowding.

For those interested in finding out more about this project, an online information page has been created that includes documents, preliminary drawings and other data.

The Sheriff's Department will also hold an open house on October 10th to show the public the project site as well as preliminary architectural drawings.
