Posted: Updated:

The roads just might be a safer place now, after a new study shows the number of teen who drink and drive is on a major decline.

The study found the percentage of teens who drove after drinking went down 54% between 1999 and 2011.

The findings were based on data from the national "Youth Risk Behavior Surveys", conducted at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Boys who were 18 and older were the most likely to drink and drive, while 16-year-old girls were the least likely.
