NEAR SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif- No children were injured after a Monte Vista Christian school bus crashed on a Highway 17 offramp, Monday afternoon.
CHP Officers say the accident happened just after 4:45 p.m. on the Mount Hermon offramp at La Madonna Drive, when the empty school bus crashed into a Penske van.
The driver of the Penske van has been rushed to a nearby hospital with major injuries.
The driver of the school bus luckily walked away with minor injuries.
One lane for southbound traffic has been closed, due to the accident, as emergency crews try to clear the scene.
Officers are asking the public to avoid this route in their commute home and to proceed with caution, if travelling in the area.
