SALINAS, Calif. -- Salinas Firefighters responded to two vegetation fires in Salinas Friday morning.
One was at the Twin Creeks Golf Course off of Constitution Boulevard. Employees of Twin Creeks were able to contain the fire, and Salinas Fire completed mop-up to make sure everything was out.
The other vegetation fire was off of Cottonwood Court in Salinas. Two small brushfires were burning in the woods behind homes. Firefighters used chainsaws to cut a path, and were able to contain the fires quickly.
Salinas Fire believes that the brushfires could be arson, as there was no other probable cause for the fires. The cases are still under investigation.
Both fires are out at this time.
