MORGAN HILL, Calif- Police are looking for a Morgan Hill woman who is accused of using her daughter to steal groceries.
Employees called the police after they had the 10-year-old in custody for shoplifting. The mother and daughter duo were caught on store security cameras shoplifting, said police.
According to police, 38-year-old Marcy Keelin went into the Safeway on Tennant Station Way on September 19th and filled her cart with groceries. According to police, Keelin told her daughter to push the cart outside as soon as she saw her mother's car pull up to the door. This was not the first time that Keelin used her daughter to steal from the store, said police. However, this time when Keelin drove up to the door, her daughter was being confronted by two store employees, said police.
Instead of staying behind to help her daughter, Police said that Keelin drove away and left the 10-year-old behind.
The girl's grandmother was able to take custody of her but police have been unable to find Keelin.
