Marina Seeing Rival Gang Violence Up Tick

Posted: Updated:

MARINA, Calif,-  Marina Police are calling the arrest of two known gang members a significant accomplishment in their efforts to make streets safer.  Chief Edmundo Rodriguez said Jaime Gonzales and Ramon Rosales are accused of attempted murder for last month's shooting outisde the Monterey County Health Clinic building in Marina.

Rodriguez said both are being held in the Monterey County Jail on a $1.4 million dollar bond each.  Police believe Gonzales and Rosales were seeking revenge for the killing of Jaime's brother Jorge Gonzales earlier this year in Seaside.

The department already has a gang task force.  But in light of recent violence, they're putting a new team to look at long term solutions.
