MARINA, Calif. -- Police arrested a 21-year old man Sunday for possession of a stolen firearm after a report of a peace disturbance.

It happened at a residence on the 700 block of Landrum Court. Marina Police say when they arrived on scene they contacted several adult males, two of whom attempted to flee through the back yard of the residence.

Police arrested one suspect for public intoxication. They say he was uncooperative and belligerent toward officers. Police say a search of the suspect revealed a stolen semi-automatic handgun in his pants pocket. The handgun was reported stolen from the City of Salinas months prior.

The suspect Nathan Ortiz age 21-years-old was booked into the Monterey County Jail for public intoxication, possession of a stolen firearm and for being in possession of a concealed weapon.

If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they're urged to contact the Marina Police Department at 384-7575 or 884-1210.
