UPDATED: Central Coast News has confirmed that Lawrence Jones is a Professor at the Naval Postgraduate School.
MONTEREY, Calif- The FBI is searching a home on Spray Street where they believe a 29-year-old woman was murdered.
According to officers, 69-year-old Lawrence Jones killed his estranged wife, Norife Jones, and dumped her body in Aromas. A hiker found her body last Friday on Cannon Road in Aromas.
A search warrant was served at his Monterey home Thursday night. Deputies said that they found enough evidence to suspect that Lawrence Jones killed his estranged wife at the home in Monterey.
Lawrence Jones was arrested in Los Angeles County Friday morning and is awaiting transport back to Monterey.
There is a Professor at the Naval Post Gradute School by the name of Lawrence Jones. At this time NPS can not confirm if it is the same guy who was arrested for killing his wife. A check of the NPS website does have a picture of Professor Jones and it does look like the suspect who was arrested.
