Salinas, Calif- Another criminal caught on camera and this one was stealing from kids. Surveillance video from a Salinas gym used by the Riptide All Stars shows a man breaking in and stealing $10,000 worth of stuff Wednesday night.
The kids at Riptide Allstars are known for their energy but after they found out about their equipment being stolen, their energy was just not the same.
"Why would anyone want to steal from our kids," said coach Morgan Eucce. The video shows the suspect stealing two speakers, two digital cameras, two laptops, and 10 pairs of cheer shoes.
The kids at Riptide spent the last four months fundraising for those shoes and in just one night their hard work was stolen.
Police are searching pawn shops and Craiglist for the stolen items, but so far no luck. The gym owner said she called the insurance company, but there was nothing it could do either.
Now the program is facing the possibility of not having shoes for a showcase in November.
