Soledad, Calif. -- Six people were arrested and several people were stopped and searched in South County Wednesday in a multi-jurisdictional gang suppression operation.
The four South County Departments of Soledad, Gonzales, Greenfield and King City, along with officers from the City of Del Rey Oaks Police Department, California State Parole, the California Department of Correction and Rehabilitation, the Morgan Hill Police Department, the Monterey County Sheriff's Office, the Monterey County Probation Department, the California Highway Patrol, the United States Marshals Service and the Department of Homeland Security participated in the gang sweep.
Soledad Police say a total of 46 law enforcement officers and agents, operating under the California Gang Reduction, Intervention and Prevention (CalGRIP) initiative, arrested a total of six individuals, conducted nineteen parol and probation searches and made approximately thirty vehicle and pedestrian stops.
