BOULDER CREEK, Calif. -- Deputies are looking into sketches of previous attacks against women this year in Fall Creek. It's just a few miles from the most recent attack against a 16 year old girl at a bus stop in Boulder Creek.
Santa Cruz Sheriff's Deputies say the incident happened on August 26th. Now neighbors are concerned about the safety of their families near the bus stop where a 16 year old girl said she was assaulted.
We talked with Shannyn Moore who is a mother of 5 and has lived in Boulder Creek for past 11 years. Since hearing about the most recent attack right across the street from her house she's worried about her own children riding the transit bus. "As a parent it's really important to express your fears to your children tell them what's going on," said Moore.
When we arrived to the bus stop where Santa Cruz Sheriff's Deputies say the woman was assaulted we noticed no one was there. Deputies told us it happened at the 12000 block of Highway 9 in Boulder Creek. We checked seven other bus stops near where the attack happened, and no one seems to be riding those buses. Shannyn told Central Coast News the community is now on its toes afraid the suspect may strike again. "It really does set everybody on alert and I'm not impartial to that. I'm a mother of several children so those things do concern me," said Moore.
Over the past several days investigators have combed through areas all over Boulder Creek for any clues that could lead them to a suspect. Detectives have also pulled over several people who match the description of the attacker as well as people who were driving the white truck deputies are looking for linked to the most recent assault.
Investigators are even looking in to the possibility of thie recent suspect being linked to two other prowls against women that happened in January and May in Fall Creek. Deputies still don't know for sure if all three incidents are connected. "It wouldn't surprise me if they're all related because they're happening near and around the schools. I am confident the sheriff department will find it out," said Moore.
Right now they are still going off of several leads, but still have no suspect.
