Suspect Named but Not Charged in Soquel Homicide Investigation

SOQUEL, Calif. -- The Santa Cruz County District Attorney's office and Sheriff's Department has named a man who may be responsible for a mysterious homicide in Soquel.

Colin Tisdale has not been charged with the murder of Jeffrey Smith but the Sheriff's Department has confirmed that are naming him a possible suspect in the case

Tisdale has not been charged or arrested for the crime.

Prosecutors argued today in court that Tisdale should not be permitted to post bail for prior offenses, given this pending case and his criminal history.

Tisdale's bail was set at one million dollars.

28 year old Jeffrey Smith was found dead in a driveway on Nicasio Way in Soquel on August 16th.
