Monterey County Sheriff Arrest Gang Member in San Lucas

SAN LUCAS, Calif. - Monterey County Sheriff Department made an arrest of a gang member Thursday just after midnight on Highway 198 near 101 in San Lucas.

Police arrested Molina Melchor, 19, after searching a vehicle that was parked near a turnout in the county area.

Melchor was found with a bag of marijuana on himself and the odor of marijuana could be scented inside the vehicle.

Inside the car, police found a loaded, concealed .22 caliber handgun, ammunition, fireworks and prescription medications.

Melchor was found to be wearing gang related clothing and a bandanna. Tattoos on Melchor also indicated gang membership. He was booked into the Monterey County Jail on gang, gun and drug related charges.
