SALINAS, Calif- A man tried to rob a woman but knocked her down instead when she did not hand over any valuables, said police.
The attempted robbery happened in the parking lot of a shopping center on the 800 block of E. Alisal St. The 57-year-old victim got out of her car and noticed a suspicious man walking towards her so she tried to get back in her car.
Police said the suspect ran up behind her and demanded that she hand over her stuff. The suspect knocked the woman down and ran towards Felice Street where he entered a white or silver Honda and drove away, said police.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult about 20 years old, 5'4" and weighed about 145 Lbs. wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants.
This is the third incident today where the suspect vehicle is described as a gray or silver colored Honda style vehicle, said police.
