Sexual Assault Charges Dropped Against Salinas Community Officer

Posted: Updated:

Salinas, Calif- Prosecutors decided Tuesday not to charge a Salinas Community Officer with sexual assault, for the second time.

This is the second lawsuit against Scott Callan, alleging he repeatedly raped and sexually abused an underage girl while she was in the Salinas Police Explorer program. The suit alleged Callan assaulted the girl at several locations, including his home, over a period of six months between 2009 and 2010.

The dropped charges come less than a month after Callan reached a settlement with the original victim.
