Greyhound Bus That Left From Salinas Involved in Head On Collision in Atascadero

ATASCADERO, Calif- The California Highway Patrol is still on the scene of a head on collision in Atascadero early Friday morning. CHP says an intoxicated 22-year-old man was driving the wrong way on Highway 101 southbound when he slammed head on into a Greyhound bus full of passengers.

Several people on the bus sustained minor injuries and the driver of the car was taken to the hospital with a broken arm. It happened between the Traffic Way exit and the San Anselmo Road exit on Highway 101 southbound in Atascadero.

Vans from the Atascadero State Hospital were used to transport the Greyhound passengers to a local Denny's where they will wait for a new bus to arrive from San Francisco.

The bus was headed to Los Angeles from Salinas
