UPDATE: Highway One Opened After Comcast Employee Badly Burned

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- Highway One has been re-opened at Laguna Road after a transformer blew, causing a Comcast repair truck to light on fire.

CHP Santa Cruz say a Comcast employee was working on the power lines in a bucket lift when a transformer apparently blew.

The employee was badly burned and the bucket lift caught on fire.

A helicopter is being flow in to transport the employee to a nearby trauma center.

Santa Cruz County Sheriff is handeling the investigation as an industrial accident and CHP is assisting with scene documentation and traffic control in the area.
