Police Searching for Gunmen in Watsonville Shooting

Watsonville, Calif. -- Police are searching for the gunmen who fired several shots at two people sitting in their vehicle.

This happened in the area of Roosevelt Street and Cullumber Court in Watsonville, at around 7:00 p.m Wedneseday night.

Watsonville Police say the two victims, an 18-year old and 19-year old, were sitting inside the vehicle when a black SUV pulled up. Officers say, a suspect in the SUV then pulled out a small semi-automatic handgun and fired several shots at the victims. The vehicle was struck several times, but the victims were not injured.

Investigators say the black SUV then continued northbound on Roosevelt Street towards Stanford street, out of the area. An extensive search was conducted for the suspects and vehicle, but officers say they were not located.

At the time of this report, police say they do not have a motive, and it is unknown if the shooting is gang related.
