Woman's Body Found by Santa Cruz Mountains

Santa Cruz, Calif. -- An investigation is underway after firefighters in Santa Cruz found the body of a woman near Highway Nine.

This happened Tuesday, near the base of the Santa Cruz mountains.

California Highway Patrol said fire crews came across the body while working on putting out a brush fire in the area. Firefighters said they discovered a burned-out car and the body of a woman next to it.

The investigation is ongoing.
