SALINAS, Calif. -- Rescued SPCA Cats Getting International Attention. Earlier this week we told you about 113 dead kittens found in two Seaside homes. The Monterey County SPCA was able to rescue 51 other cats. Now people from all over the world are helping out these animals.
Now the SPCA is receiving donations and supplies for the 51 cats that were rescued. People have been sending everything from money donations, food and toys for these pets. Purchases have been made from people all over the U.S. and even parts of Europe.
Beth Brookhouser of the SPCA of Monterey County says she's upset that so many kittens were found dead, but is happy the ones who made it out alive are getting supplies to recover. "If you go on Twitter and search for it you will see all sorts of different languages talking about this. Its really touching people and its definitely shocked us," said Brookhouser.
SPCA humane officers are still investigating the case. Most of the cats rescued are very sick. Two were taken into surgery but will be okay.
