SALINAS, Ca. - A volunteer leaving the California Rodeo Salinas swerved to avoid hitting a car in front of him, but instead ran into a fire hydrant.

As of 2:15 Sunday afternoon, police were trying to get cleanup underway.

What started as a traffic backup became a major traffic jam after the accident.

Central Coast News has a crew on the scene, who say there is water everywhere in front of the Salinas Sports Complex.
