6-Year-Old Boy Sent to Hospital in Hit-and-run Accident

CASTROVILLE, Calif. -- 6-Year-Old Boy Sent to Hospital in Hit-and-run Accident. Three Hit-and-Runs happened all in a matter of minutes in Castroville, including a 6-year-old boy who was hit by a driver who went through his front yard.

Deputies say a 17 year old male led them on a high speed chase hitting two vehicles and injuring a 6 year old in the process in Castroville.

It all started about 6:30 p.m. Saturday near Salinas Road and Highway 1 Southbound. The 17 year led deputies towards Castroville where he knicked a 6 year old in the chase.

The child sustained minor injuries. After 3 crashes with two vehicles the 17 year old crashed through a fence and landed flipped the vehicle. First responders used the jaws of life to remove the 17 year old from the vehicle near Geil and Poole streets in Castroville.

Deputies say he is suspected of being under the influence and was taken to Natividad hospital.
