SALINAS, Calif. -- Alan Jackson Concert Comes to Salinas. Despite a severe sinus infection country super star Alan Jackson came out to the California Rodeo Salinas Saturday night.

Jackson decided to fly up from Los Angeles last minute. The concert was originally canceled around noon but Jackson changed his mind when he found out people from all over the country were coming out to see him. He was took sick to do any meet and greets or on camera interviews.

Promotions Manager David Drew says he's impressed the star made it out for the show. I've got huge respect for him to understand the position we're in and the physical shape that he's in right now to man up and come up and handle the show for the fans. My hat is off to him. He's an awesome guy," said Drew.

The show was the biggest country concert Salinas has ever seen. VIP tickets for the show sold out in less than five minutes. It's Jackson's first concert on the West Coast to sell out so far.

More than 6,000 people attended from all over the U.S. to see the country legend.
