HOLLISTER, Calif - Hollister Police arrested a Watsonville man for a July 17th armed robbery Friday.
According to Hollister Police, between 7:30 and 8:30 Tuesday night the victims reported they were walking on South Street near Prospect Avenue when a gold sedan pulled up next to them. One of the occupants asked what the victim's gang affiliation was andthe suspect identified himself as a gang member.
Three men then got out of the car and and approached the victims, threatening to shoot them and demanding they empty their pockets. The suspect never showed a gun.
A passerby who knows the victims approached walked up and started to yell at the suspects, who drove away in in the goldsedan with the victim's property.
The victim's identified a license plate number, leading officers to Eloy Vasquez, 18, of Watsonville.
Officers arrested Vasquez on Friday whereand he was transported and booked into the San Benito County Jail for 211 PC-Robbery, 182 PC-Conspiracy, and 136.1 PC-Witness Intimidation.
Vasquez's bail is set at $50,000.
