MONTEREY, Calif- Monterey city hall and police department had to be evacuated Friday afternoon.

According to city spokeswoman Anne McGrath, a guy walked into the police department to drop something off that was potentially explosive.

The offices were evacuated as a precaution. Around 3:00 pm the bomb squad cleared the device and determined that everything was ok.
