Dog Killed in Pacific Grove House Fire

PACIFIC GROVE, Calif - A family dog died in a Pacific Grove house fire Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Monterey Fire Department, the fire broke out at a home on the 300 blcok Asilomar Boulevard just before 1:00 p.m.

Crews were  to keep the fire from spreading to the rest of the house and surrounding homes. Two  residents were not home when the fire started.  Two dogs were in the home at the time, but only was able to escape before crews arrived.

The home sustained approximately $175,000 of structural and content damage.

 The fire is currently under investigation by the Monterey Fire Department.
