SALINAS, Calif- Salinas police have identified the 25-year-old victim in Wednesday night's deadly shooting as Jonathan Perea Hernandez.
Two other people were injured in the shooting. One of them, 17-year-old, was taken to a bay area hospital and is still being treated for life threatening injuries, said police. The other victim, a 20-year-old, was shot in the leg.
Police say that all three of the victims were walking home from church carrying bibles when they were shot.
Police still do not know why the three victims were targeted, and police say that they were not gang members.
