Santa Cruz Predictive Policing Program Now in Morgan Hill - Central Coast News KION/KCBA

MORGAN HILL, Calif- The program that was developed by a software company in Santa Cruz and utilized by the Santa Cruz Police can now also be found in Morgan Hill.

"PredPol is a valuable tool that allows us to do more with less focusing our attention on areas where crimes are likely to occur. Officers will be able to take the next step after identifying hotspots and partner with the community to find solutions to the problem(s)" stated Chief Swing.

PredPol is the predictive policing program that looks at burglaries and car thefts in a similar manner as predicting aftershocks from an earthquake.

The only other agencies that are currently deploying in the region are Santa Cruz and Salinas, said the Morgan Hill Police Department.
