WATSONVILLE, Calif- Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Deputies are looking for a man who used a food slot hole at a minimum security jail to escape.
Richard Norman Sasse, 28, of Salinas, escaped sometime after 11 pm Thursday night, sheriff's deputy April Skalland said.
Sasse was part of a cleaning crew which cleans the inmate cafeteria and was able to manipulate a locked door and escaped through the kitchen.
Sasse was in custody awaiting sentencing for carjacking, burglary, armed robbery, possession of narcotics, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm.
