Monterey Woman Dies In Friday Morning House Fire

MONTEREY, Calif- Crews responded to a fire in a duplex on Munras Avenue Friday morning. A woman and her two kids were able to escape but firefighter say an elderly woman also living in the unit was unable to get out in time.

The fire started just before 7 a.m. and crews had it under control in under an hour.

The home sustained approximately $250,000 dollars of damage said firefighters. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
