WATSONVILLE, Calif.-- Watsonville firefighters are responding to the scene of a plane crash in a field just off of Highway 1 and Ranport Road. Two people were inside the aircraft and managed to get out without any injuries.
It happened this afternoon around 1:00p.m. at the Watsonville Driving Range. Firefighters say upon take-off the plane lost power and went down in a nearby field.
The cause of the malfunction is still under investigation. This is the second plane crash in the past two weeks near the Watsonville Airport.
